Halo Underwriting Limited is an insurance agency comprised of a team of skilled and seasoned (re)insurance professionals with over 100 years' combined experience as intermediaries and underwriters in the Lloyd's and London insurance and reinsurance company markets.

Halo's senior management, founders and directors are seasoned professionals with extensive and diverse experience in the (Re)Insurance markets both in London / Lloyd's and Internationally.
Cathy Garner
CEO
Cathy is a highly regarded senior insurance practitioner who has over 30 years’ experience in the direct and reinsurance company market and in Lloyd’s. Immediately prior to setting up Halo and its sister company in Europe Aurora, Cathy was the Global Head of Life and Disability for Global Benefits Group.. Before that, she spent nearly two decades in Lloyd’s as the Active Underwriter for life syndicates 308 and 779, and prior to that she worked for Swiss Re and Friends Provident.
Throughout her career, Cathy has been involved in many industry bodies, including a 10-year stint as chair of the Lloyd’s Market Association Term Life Business Panel. She is currently a member of the Advisory Board of The Women’s Insurance Network, and of the iWIN Committee of the Worshipful Company of Insurers (of which she is a liveryman).
Cathy has been named as a role model by the Insurance Post survey of young insurance professionals, and as a “Woman of Influence in Insurance and Reinsurance” by the Intelligent Insurer. She is very proud to have been asked to judge the 2023 Women in Insurance awards.
Paul Goodricke
Director
Paul is a well-known and highly respected senior insurance practitioner who has over 40 years’ experience in the Lloyd’s and London (Re)Insurance subscription market. Prior to setting up Halo and Aurora, Paul worked in various senior management roles within 3 Lloyd’s Brokers and co-established a new Lloyd’s Insurance Broker in 2016.
Paul specialises in identifying needs in territories and classes of business that are inadequately served by obtaining suitable market capacity for local partners.

COO
Magnus is an executive with a unique record of innovative success at senior management level with multinational Reinsurance and Insurance Groups. His experience spans Finance and Operations Management, Project and Change Management, Corporate Finance (including successfully managing a NYSE IPO/Listing), Investor Relations, Transaction Negotiation and Execution (Mergers & Acquisitions, Securities/Debt Offerings), Business Development and Production (with Broking, Underwriting Agency and Insurance / Reinsurance Companies), Marketing and Corporate Communication.
